Thanks for posting this Wayne
I've been meaning to post something about ever since this travesty occurred!

AND IT IS A FREAKING TRAVESTY!!

I took lapidary classes there and know many of the fine folks
who vounteered thier time.
I hadn't known how lousy they were treated
untill I read that article

For them to close this museam and
leave it empty during Arizona centennial
is really beyond the pale of decency !

There are petitions going around
hopefully I'll be making some contacts
and have more information...

The Arizona Mining, Mineral and Natural Resources Education Museum > current information uploads to do my homework for me

I was a volunteer of the Old Pueblo Lapidary Club library recordings week last year. We cooperated with Flagg Mineral Foundation from AZ M&M Museum. Also: 4 of my top students are lucky to participate in The Tucson Gem and Mineral Society events in summer.
