The Final Word...
Late Thursday evening I decided that if I flew Friday right after the kids got out of school I could get to Tucson and come back Saturday night. The plan was to do the scenic drive on the West side of of Saguaro National Park around sunset, go to a hotel close by and the hit the East side of the park in the morning. They had a 9:30 hike with a Forest Ranger that was a mile long, then we could work on the Ranger Rick workbook that the Park provides (most National Parks have these and all the ones that we have used have been awesome - and free!). Perfect plan....until I got a call from the school nurse Friday afternoon. One of the boys has a rash. Not contagious, but I didn't think exposing him to the intense sun would be a good thing so the trip was canceled.
Thanks for the input. Hopefully someone else planning a trip with their kids will find the information that you all provided helpful.

Aww that sucks It sounds like it was a good plan, but last minute "kid stuff" can always cause problems. Maybe you folks can do it another time.
