I drove by the Death Valley mine, that count? I doubt it.
Anyway I was out rambling around the East Mojave last weekend and on Saturday the weather was PERFECT summer weather for a back-country drive. I left LA early sat morning and got to Baker about 9ish and headed up to Halloran Summit and hit the dirt. Wandered around the Dome most of the day and headed on top of the Mid Hills, to camp for the night. Day time temps ran about 105 to 110 but I never turned on the AC.
Since the fire we had a 360 degree view from our perch at about 5700 ft. The distance thunder heads offered a light show that I may never forget.
Night temps dropped into the 70’s and at 6am the temp was 74 degrees, perfect for a good nights sleep.
Sunday a topical front moved in and the humidity shot-up and the AC went on by 8am. But still a nice drive, but I’m sure happy to have an enclosed rig with working AC.
