No and it's not me or anyone I know in the pic. It's just a pic I had sent to me.

Yeah, I've seen that one before...I even seen the snake pasted into a whole different picture and attributed to be from Globe, Arizona...Their newspaper even fell for the fraud!
It was a nice sized WDB all right, 6-7 footer....It's held up close to the camera to give the effect of being a larger than life trophy.

It's still big enough to scare me into the next county, hell maybe even the next state.

A snake that size could ruin your whole day.

Big or small, IMO the only good Rattlesnake is a dead one.

I'll generally just leave them alone after I give them a wide berth and get a look. Although, when I was a Boy Scout, we did have to kill one that ended up on top of our sleeping bags one night on an outpost camp during our summer camp. He wasn't taking the hint to leave, and we decided it was necessary to end his dictatorial reign over the ledge upon which we were having to set up our sleeping bags.

Almost stepped on one while backpacking near San Jacinto. I don't think I ever jumped so high in my life, despite the fact I was about 40 years old, had about 8 miles under my belt that day, and I had 50 lbs on my back.

Who says white men can't jump?

Agree, especially if they are around the house. The cost of a snakebite is big bucks, so its a one way street being kind to them. Be kind to them, they bite you. Some deal.

They say to shuffle your feet but in Wonder Valley sometimes you have to duck. Rattle snake was 23 inches long and had 7 rattles. It was in channel at bottom of overhead door at my friends house.
