UNIDENTIFIED PLANT

Post by blackturtle.us »

Does anyone recognize this plant? I've tried to identify it, but I'm stumped. INFO: This small plant was found growing under the north side of small rocks at about 2400 feet in elevation about 200 yards south of the Inyo County line in Searles Valley.

MYSTERY SOLVED: The plant is known by the common name Valentine Plant or Threadstem. The scientific name is Pterostegia drymarioides. Here's more info at calflora.net: http://www.calflora.net/bloomingplants/threadstem.html.
