BLM and CEC will hold at least one joint public hearing/meeting on the project. Bright Source Energy applied for four right-of-way authorizations to construct solar power plants on approximately 4,000 acres of public land in California about 4.5 miles southwest of Primm, Nevada. The project would be the first commercial scale thermal solar power project constructed on public land in the United States.

Given that I'm familiar with particular area it would be a great place to put such a project. Absolutely flat and void of any vegetation due to the condition of the soil.

I think you’re right PITD, it looks like a good place to me too. And, it doesn’t appear to conflict with any better usage including any Enviro-Nazi’s scheme.
True, we must proceed with caution but proceed we must.
There are plenty of acceptable locations for these needed renewable energy facilities and its time to “get her done”. We can no longer afford a Middle East Wet Nurse (or any other). Our independence is too important to be playing games!
BTW, Feinstein’s latest land grab proposal has already scared "Bright Source" away from pursuing the enterprising use of an unremarkable stretch of desert east of the 29 Palms Marine Base. I don’t understand the politics that allows that kind of nonsense but I know that the woman does not represent the America I know and love!
