Yesterday, the Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forest and Public Lands had a meeting to discuss the Presidents power to designate national monuments. The meeting is archived and can be viewed here:

It's been quite a while. I've lurked a bit, but have been very busy at work (knock on wood), plus my wife's mom passed away - still dealing with that.
Regarding National Monument designations: I'd like to hear from the gallery (peanut or otherwise) what anyone has heard about the possibility of the Arizona Strip being designated as an election-year attempt to garner environmental votes? Like what Clinton did with the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument?
