Eagle Mountain hydropower proposal

Post by Jim_b »

There’s still no resolution in sight for the old Eagle Mountain iron mine, eight months after federal regulators approved plans to build a hydroelectric power plant at the site, in the shadow of Joshua Tree National Park.

Thanks Jim for the post.

I don't see that as a workable concept/plan, but I do like their forward thinking for a big hole in the ground. Maybe if something other than ground water in that area was the source for the project.

My Grandfather worked for Kaiser Steel back in the heyday of Eagle mountain. I spent many happy times there as a youngster. I am saddened to see its current state of decay. The homes that are rotting away, were some nice houses. I even went to the little school there, when I told my parents I wanted to live with my grandma. She made the better pies.
