two kinds of Americans

Sal, most of us don't have the luxury of dismissing and ignoring the facts when they don't jibe with what we believed or what our "instinct" tells us. Other people live and die by the facts. Legitimate fortunes are won and lost on the facts. Liberty either survives or perishes by the facts. While those vitally important issues are waging war with phony issues such as global warming, acid rain, overpopulation and impending famine, ozone holes, global cooling, and the effects of OHV use in the desert, important time and resources are being wasted by people attempting to capture political power and dominion over other human beings. Our Constitution is being trampled daily by those who file frivolous lawsuits on behalf of some or another supposedly failing species. Our childrens' and grandchildrens' future is truly being flushed down the toilet by elected officials who campaigned on "fairness" and "freedom", then turned right around and mortgaged that future and set about destroying that freedom. It's not yet a true crisis, but will be in a year if nothing else changes. Our government is obligating the American people to "also-ran" status in the world, selling our superpower status and our ability to promote freedom and liberty the world over. They are making us into a European-style social democracy, where we can have all the freedom we want as long as it's THEIR idea of freedom.

Those who promote and allow such greivous destruction of the liberty our ancestors fought and died for, and who actually promote the current bold moves toward a socialist state, are one kind of American. Those who resist it are another.

Who was DEFENDING slavery? Just because some one pointed out that the Civil Was was not fought over slavery, do you think they defend it? You're as screwed up in your American History as much as you are OHV use.
