I have a fair opinion of my own beliefs, but I dare say the thoughts in my mind are the reason this whole mess is affecting the popularity contest recently won by the current Congress and the current Administration. Why? Because Congress so richly deserves it and the Obama Administration is earning it daily. Turning the US into a third-rate failed socialist oligarchy won't solve the problem, and people are finally coming to that realization. Congress made it bad. Obama is making it worse. Eventually, the truth comes out. Unfortunately, we've found a way to get blind drunk and hand off the hangover to our grandchildren.

The question is....who kept feeding us more shooters?

Good imagery, Dan! As McCain said, the last administration "spent like drunken sailors". And I agree, there is nothing Obama can do to make it right.

Why not let it all collapse and take our medicine now instead of pretending there's a fix?

I agree with you on one point, at least. As a socialist, there is nothing Obama can do to fix our economic woes. That will have to wait until at least next year, when we can get rid of a few of those who were behind the fraud, and who are currently still in charge of the operation.

You don't think there's a way out? You must be a horribly depressed person right now. Do yourself and the rest of us a favor, will you? Give away all your firearms and sharp knives until you get some help...and please don't go up in any tall buildings. Don't make someone else scrape your remains off some sidewalk somewhere.

Such an easy fix, Dan, just vote the Republicans back into office. Now, why didn't I think of that?

After all, they did such a great job over the last eight years! And Sarah Palin could have single-handedly jump-started the economy with her new wardrobe. Looking back, it is hard to imagine why I'm registered as an Independent, given such a great team is waiting in the wings to lead us back to prosperity.

Dang, Dan! Any more sage investment advice while I have your attention?

I don't believe I ever said it was an "easy fix". You keep reading things into my posts with which you can argue. Trouble is, I didn't post the things you're arguing with.

How does it feel to be out of rhetorical ammunition?

That would have been the best way to let it happen. If you look at the first 150 years of our country, that's what happened. You made it or you didn't. We were a flurishing economy for the most part. Not untill FDR did the government start to really screw with trying to "fix" the economy and business. When FDR and crew raised taxes and put in place taraifs we were plunged in to the depression. Had FDR not fiddled with the econmy and business and started the welfare system the market would have corrected it self. Just as FDR, Obama needs to figure out you can't tax and spend us us to prosparity. WWII brought us out of the depression, with private sector jobs, not FDR's government welfare system. Now we have Obama, can you say FDR on steroids? It didn't work then and it won't work now. Let the weak businesses go away and the stronger ones surface. It's called free market and capitalism, what has made the United States what it is.

No not at all EZ! You vote fiscally conseratives in to office. It makes no matter their political party. Today I'd say don't vote for any incumbent.
