Art nouveau!
Looks like the edge of a frozen water hole.

Your close Rep, but no cigar. It's actually a very clever illusion that yuccahead has played. The boulder in center of photo is not what you think it is. Examine that "boulder" and tell us what you think is the real size of that "boulder". Think really big.

Hello Yucc.
I am Mary. I do not exactly getting this, but whatever it is, a good one. I appreciate that on the first look. I feel it is a good work of photography. I would also like to do such a nice work if I am getting the opportunity.
Well thanks for such a good photo art.

Thanks Mary, glad you liked it.
TradClimber is on the right track.
I'll check back in a couple of days, I got a river to visit. I've been saying I'll get to this BP trip someday, well, today's the day. I just hope the Park Service has erased that annoying blue line by now. :)

Boys and Girls,
I'll sneak in a hint for ya while yuccahead is away.
Yuccahead accidently (mischievously?) rotated the photo before posting it above.
Rotate the photo counter-clockwise 90 degrees.
Assuming the laws of gravity are strictly enforced here and that yh had his feet on the ground, this would be the correct orientation of what yuccahead saw.
I hope this help. If not, I'll post another hint tomorrow about that very interesting "boulder" in the center of the photo.
Whats wrong with that "boulder"?

Now that we have the correct orientation of what yuccahead saw, what's wrong with the "boulder"?
It is unlike any boulder that's likely to exist in nature. Lets call it a formation. Think large formation.
Lets temporary rotate the formation 180 degrees and examine it.
Aha! Now things are making sense. The shadow, water stains, rocks on the ledge, and the cleavages are as they could be in nature.
It is a large sandstone formation in the desert. Probably at least 100 feet tall, maybe much larger.
Here's the last piece of the puzzle.
Why is the formation upside down to the correct orientation of what yh saw?

TradClimber is about to nail this one shut. He must read a lot of Sherlock Holmes.
So here's an easy one, TradClimber will know this. Like the first photo, this was just how I saw it in the desert.
