Was the square room still standing on the inside of the circle?? I didn't see any photos of that part of it.

Silenthunter - the inside of the circle was overgrown quite a bit when I was there. I could only make out the basics of the inner square, but it wasn't something terribly noticeable. I think if I could have gotten above somewhere and looked down on it from that perspective, it might have been more recognizable, but there was no way to do that.
I believe Tom Kollenborn's book has photos showing the inner square that was more noticeable back in the 1960-1980 timeframe when he spent more time investigating it. Even at that time however it wasn't completely intact at all.
Here's a few more links on Circlestone if anyone is interested in reading about it further and/or getting other viewpoints. One of the things I need to do is contact Tom and find out if he has access to the 30 minute documentary that was done in it years ago - I'd love to watch a copy of that.
It's a fascinating part of the history of the Superstitions imho.
