Malachite Quest

Post by roc2rol »

Hello All :)

I have special project coming up
& am in need of some small pieces of malachite.
Its difficult stuff to come by.
I guess the natural reserves are running low.
So I'm told by rock hounds.

I acquired the large slab and its nice.
But I need another piece like the one
in the upper right hand corner.
Notice that it as that black/green malachite coloring.
I don’t need much -just a few small pieces.

So anyone who might have any resources let me know, please.
I’m willing to banter, trade, buy ect..

Or just enjoy the pic!
Thanks!
Ed

Man O’Man

I put my feelers out for malachite
and the neighbor brought this unique specimen over.

This is a serious museum piece!

I think the holes are natural
venting holes for the concentric rings?
not sure …
but the piece is about 5” long
dense & heavy
which must be the copper
