Someone is still working the Four Peaks mine. The first time, about 7 years ago, I was there I saw a guy but the keep out signs were not inviting and the guy I saw on the hillside just sat down and watched me, no wave, didn't seem friendly. I've passed through that site a couple of times since on my way to or from a hike to all four summits. Nobody was present but there was evidence that it's still being actively worked.
