Nice picture Jim, it reminded it me of a coyote we once saw in Webb County, here in Texas. I don't know if anyone has seen a coyote with any markings, but the one we saw had the tip of it's tail white, a good four inches of it.

Beautiful shot. I had my first experience talking with a coyote on Sat night in Rockhouse Valley in AB. I had the whole valley to myself and one came along and sounded very close so I called back exactly as he had- and he started barking and howling more! Scared me I started thinking it was going to come across the wash in the dark and check me out. Was really neat actually.
There was another critter that called a few hours later and I had NO idea what it was. Loud, moving up canyon, not a coyote at all. I was trying to think of waht other critters it could be- fox, bobcat, ring-tailed cat...?
