Search the Mineral Resources Data System
Search for records in the USGS Mineral Resource Data System database. Type the beginning of the name of the site, or select a state if you wish. The search will show up to 10000 records.
You can pick state - gold - placer or underground location. Search shows the list of location by county and it then has links to google map or earth to show the exact location of the gold.
Does not not show the lost dutchman mine. Here is the link.

I use http://www.mindat.org to get an idea of the minerals that have been found in different mining districts. They have put a lot of work into the website. They have embedded Google Maps on most of their pages.
