Great stuff! You lucky desert dogs! Terry, where abouts are those three obelisk like structures located and what are they? They look like concrete ruins somewhat like the ones at Carara in Nevada.

"a bunch of people who go offroad to see things and learn about them."
I agree with you one hundred percent. Out on the Oregon coast we have beautiful sand dunes that you can spend months exploring with a quad, but 99% of the people who go there spend all day racing up and down the same hill as if they are getting paid for it or something. There is nothing wrong with that if it is what you like, but it baffles my mind. When i am in that country on a quad or on foot, all I can think of is exploring every little nook and cranny.

Now I am jonesing bad for New Mexico and Arizona. If Tami and I have our way we will be there next year. I have been wanting to get down to Antelope Wells. If we make it we will most certainly give you a call to set up a good time to get together.

Be careful down there. There is a lot of Border Patrol enforcement activity down there and you can get stopped multiple times. The first time you get stopped, make sure the officer calls in your names and descriptions so when you get stopped again by a different guy, you can tell him to check with his HQ. The people who own the ranch just NW of Antelope Wells are great folks.
WARNING Do NOT go off NM Hwy 81 as you may run into some very unsavory characters who own a ranch out there (They tend to shoot first and ask questions later). Just stay on the road and you'll be OK.
My question: Why would you want to go to Antelope Wells anyway? Compared to AW, Rodeo is a metropolis!!
