Yeah, days and days, but I can hang. I call it the waiting game.those pictures took lots of patience, heh?
Usually 30 to 100 feet. If I'm lucky, 15 to 30. One time a big ram approach me to within 6 feet. They generally accept my presence after a while if I present myself properly. You must let them approach you. You cannot approach them. They are a better and much faster climber than myself. I go in along for 3 or 4 days at a time in mid summer and play the waiting game. See thread below.how far off were you, trad?

I use a P&S Kodak model Z1015 IS. The camera has a problem with sun and heat - not good. All my photos of Peninsular Bighorns are shot during the summer months when temperatures are 100 – 115. When the camers shuts down because of heat, it takes 20 -30 minutes in shade to get it working again.are they captured with a telephoto lens ?

Re: Do You Like Rocks?
Thanks for the link, Trad
I hadn't seen those big horn close-ups!
Very impressive photography skills
and trust your building up with those animals!
As to the mountain rock face
I'm equally impressed by the the blue strata!
Any idea what that mineral is?
I can only venture azurite....
but I would imagine that it would already have
been well documented by rockhounds
anyway it makes my mind boggle
& any loose samples laying on the ground would be a treat
thanks agin!!!

I seriously doubt it. In 35 years of visiting this area I not seen another person other than the occasional person that was with me. Besides, only a skilled rockclimber could visit this remote area.but I would imagine that it would already have
been well documented by rockhounds
I’m hoping to go back to this area within the month for more Bighorn photos. I’ll bring back a small representative sample of the various rocks.anyway it makes my mind boggle

Re: Do You Like Rocks?
Hi Trad !
A difficult area to access? Be careful as you well know !
But samples of those rocks would be righteous!
I think they would take a fine polish!
For rockhounds --I do believe you discover a motherlode of mineral fascinations!
I'll pay any shipping charges and gratuities for some.
