For a number of reasons I have not been out much this season.
However have managed to find a few things when out and about. The first was this nice Patch nose out at the edge of the Kelso dunes. Mid March, the day was quite cool and windy, didn't actually expect to see anything.. It may not be readily visible But this guy is well flattened to adsorb whatever heat it can from the road surface.
The second find was this gorgeous Speck down near lake Elsinore a couple of weeks ago. Crossing the road in a residential neighborhood, I have to thank the local bird life for pointing the snake out to me. They were harassing the poor fellow as it went about its business crossing the road.

Nice pictures.
Personally, I would rather see it going away from me than coming towards me

That is a beautiful speckled. I have never yet encountered a patch-nose in the wild.
