Where? Any markings on the back to suggest film manufacture date?

It was out in desert scrub about 8 miles north of Moab. There wasn't any kind of printing on it that I could see, just a film of dirt.

Thanks, yuccahead. There's a story there, of course. I once found a camera out on a trail to Smuggler's Cave near Jacumba. I developed the film it had loaded, and the owner had to have been a foreign college student. A large group had hit everything from the wind caves near Split Mountain to the Elliot Mine. Never could figure out how to find the owner. The electronics were shorted out, probably from sitting out in the elements, dew in the morning, that kind of thing.

Wikipedia's article on Polaroid is quite confusing. The company apparently went belly up in 2001, and even the holding company that had its assets filed bankruptcy in 2008. They stopped manufacturing cameras in 2007 and stopped making film in 2009. Despite that, you can still buy Polaroid film, and Wikipedia directs you to 'The New' Polaroid website.
