Joshua blooms

Post by desertLilly »

We live in an area with plenty of Joshua trees and love their blooms. We have one beginning to bloom right now in our yard. A few years ago I think about 4 or so, we had an abundance of blooming Joshua's as well as Yucca blooming. I am looking to find out how often we should be so blessed with an abundance of Joshua blooms again. Does anyone know how often they bloom and what promotes blooming. I know watering is a nono. Maybe removing the spent pods can help???
I have photos, but as I said that was about 4 years ago.
Anyone having any answers? It would be good to understand the desert plants more. I have a "naturalized" cactus garden and have planted some wild flower seeds, that I picked after the flowering of the plant, planted it my yards and some are growing well others haven't come up at all. I just love my yard/garden.
Greetings to all
desertLilly (a flower I have yet to see in the wild) :P
