ROUTE 66 repairs

BRIDGE REPAIR ON U. S. ROUTE 66 TO BEGIN MARCH 6, 2017.
San Bernardino County Department of Public Works has announced a plan to begin repair on two bridges along Route 66. They are located between Chambliss and Amboy, on the stretch between the old Chambliss Store at Cadiz Road on the east and Kelbaker Road on the west. Traffic coming east on Route 66 through Amboy will be diverted north on Kelbaker Road to Interstate 40; through traffic coming west will not be allowed past Essex, but local traffic will be allowed to go as far as Chambliss. Gates will be installed at each end of the work area.
The work is expected to be completed in September 2017.
