Height: 4-12 inches

Description: The plant is hairy with an erect stem or one that lays flat with its tips curving up. The 1.5–9 cm, inflorescence often has dense spiraled flowers with petals that are pink to purple, rarely white. The uppermost petal spot is white or yellowish, the two lowermost fused petals of the plant are generally without hairs.

Leaf: Each small palmate leaf is made up of 5 to 9 leaflets up to 3 centimeters long and under a centimeter wide, sometimes narrow and linear in shape.

Range: Desert, c&s Central Western California, Southwestern California

Habitat: Common. Open or disturbed areas, burns

Elevation: < 1700 m.

Flowering time: Mar–May
