Description: Ericameria linearifolia is a standard bushy aster shrub which bears radiant yellow daisy flowers on long stems. The 13-18 ray flowers are 9–20 mm and there are many disc corollas 6–10 mm.

Leaf: 10–55 mm, elongated with nearly parallel sides with short-tapered, sharp tips.
Range: Mojave Desert, w Sonoran Desert, s Sierra Nevada Foothills, Sacramento Valley (Sutter Buttes), s San Joaquin Valley, e Central Western California, Western Transverse Ranges
Habitat: Dry slopes, valleys
Elevation: < 2000 m.
Flowering time: Mar–May
Notes: Ericameria linearifolia, a dicot, is a shrub that is native to California and is also found outside of California, but is confined to western North America.
Horticulture: Given excellent drainage (modification of compacted or other water-holding soils may be necessary), absence of frequent summer water (distance from water-loving plants), and full or nearly full sun (tolerates summer afternoon sun), grows especially well in zone 7 and also in zones 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24.
