Jan. 1 – Feb. 28, 2010

It is now January and time to head to Quartzsite, AZ to attend the rock and mineral shows. RV’s come to Quartzsite in droves during this time of year.  Many visitors stay for several days and others for one or two months.  In addition to the rock and mineral shows,  the town of Quartzsite also hosts RV, car shows, arts and crafts shows and swap meets.

Quartzsite, Arizona, is located approximately 20 miles east of the Colorado River, on I-10.  The town of Quartzsite has been a rockhound’s paradise since 1965.  Quartzsite’s population grows to well over a million visitors every January and February.  Hundreds of vendors participate in Quartzsite’s gem shows and swap meet every year.

The vendors sell rocks, minerals, gift items, arts and crafts and jewelry.  You can buy raw geodes, quartz crystals and many other types of rocks and minerals.  Quartzsite’s shows offer you the opportunity to buy items that you can’t find anywhere else.  Unusual and unique items are what draw thousands of visitors each year.

DesertUSA makes Quartzsite an annual trip to stock up on items for our online store.   Some of our best selling items come from the Quartzsite shows.  The agate bookends are very popular as well as the break at home geodes.  We sell a lot of the agate night lights, quartz and amethyst candle holders, agate wind chimes and other unique craft gifts.

Lynn Bremner About Lynn Bremner

Lynn Bremner is the author of DesertRoadTrippin.com, a blog about desert road trips and tips. She started the blog after moving to Indio, CA where she now resides. Now a true desert dweller, Lynn has added in some of her own views on desert living. The heat does not keep her indoors in the summertime. She is out running, golfing or taking short day trips to some of the local points of interest.

After years of traveling along the dusty, desert trails with her father, she has come to appreciate the beauty and solitude of the desert landscape. Her father’s passion for prospecting, desert lore and exploring the desert parks took their family to many interesting places, mostly in California, Nevada and Arizona. Lynn now writes about her desert road trips and intertwines a little bit of desert living into the mix.

In addition to the DesertRoadTrippin’ blog, Lynn also writes articles and produces content for the DesertUSA.com, Empire Polo Lifestyle Magazine and PoloZONE.com.
