Earthquake Shakes Desert Region
Occurred at 10:48 am  Pacific Time
Dec. 30th, ’09
The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9 and the epicenter was in Baja California just 22 miles SE of Mexicali.   The earthquake was felt in San Diego and throughout the Southern California Desert Region.  In Indio, CA the shaking continue for more than 30 seconds and caused movement within residences that lasted for more than a full minute.
