Art Smith Trail and Dead Indian Canyon in Palm Desert

I recently took some friends to see some fun scenery around the Art Smith Trail and Dead Indian Canyon.  We saw some desert hares running around, and a swarm of bees.  I have seen many bighorn in this area.

The trailhead is on Hwy 74 (Monterrey ave) just before it starts going up into the mountains.  We did some rock scrambling and saw many interesting rock formations, and a couple of palm oasis.
