There are 10 more reasons to enjoy Mesa Verde National Park! The park will offer free admission on ten days in 2017.
The 2017 entrance fee-free days are:
January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February 20: Presidents’ Day
April 15-16 and April 22-23: National Park Week Weekends
August 25: National Park Service’s 101st birthday
September 30: National Public Lands Day
November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend

“Fee-free days offer a wonderful time for new visitors to become familiar with the park and for return visitors to rediscover the magic of Mesa Verde,” said Superintendent Cliff Spencer. “I urge everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.”
Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from A.D. 600 to 1300. Today the park protects nearly 5,000 known archeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States.
The entrance fee waiver does not cover camping or tours.
Last year, Mesa Verde National Park had more than 547,000 visitors. Those visitors spent $55.4 million local communities which helped to support 814 jobs.
