On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Big Bend National Park authorities received a report through a commercial river operator of a body on shore, downstream of the Gravel Pit river access, along the Rio Grande within Big Bend National Park. Park Rangers responded and located the body of an unidentified male. The investigation is ongoing. No additional information is available at this time.
