DEATH VALLEY, CA –A doctor residing in Mammoth Lakes recently pleaded guilty to removing archeological resources from Death Valley National Park and the Humbolt-Toiyabe National Forest.

Join the park staff at Oasis Visitor Center on Thursday, August 25 at 10am for birthday cake and celebration of the National Park Service’s 100th birthday. Superintendent David Smith will officiate over cutting of the cake and provide remarks regarding this monumental milestone.

Mesa Verde National Park has lifted fire restrictions which have been in effect since July 16, 2016. Rain showers and cooler temperatures in recent weeks have reduced the fire danger in the park. There are no active fires in the park.
