Fifty miles of roads in Death Valley National Park reopened to the public last weekend that had been closed due to flash floods since October. The National Park Service also made progress in recovering from flood damage at Scotty’s Castle. Grand Canyon, Ariz. –At approximately 6 am on Sunday, December 6, the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a call reporting CPR in progress in Bright Angel Campground near Phantom Ranch. Park rangers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and continued CPR, however all efforts to resuscitate the hiker were unsuccessful.
