National Parks Fee Free Day on Sept 27th for Natl Public Lands Day

npld_logoCAMP VERDE, Ariz. –National Park Service units throughout the country will waive entry fees on Saturday, September 27, in celebration of National Public Lands Day.

National Public Lands Day has been a tradition since 1994, when it began with just three sites. In conjunction with National Public Lands Day in 2013, more than 175,000 people performed volunteer work on public lands in all 50 states; Washington, D.C.; Guam;and Puerto Rico.

In the Verde Valley, the National Park Service will waive entry fees at both Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments. Additionally, Western National Parks on will offer a 15% discount off all items in the visitor center bookstores, including Native American crafts made by Hopi, Zuni, Acoma, Yavapai, Apache, and Tohono O’odham artisans.
