The National Park Service (NPS) has announced that its Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Salt Wash Rehabilitation Project in Arches National Park is now available for public review and comment. The EA identifies strategies for reducing the frequency of flooding-related closures of the Wolfe Ranch/Delicate Arch Road by improving the flow of water and sediments.

Arches National Park officials plan to remove cottonwood trees in the visitor center parking lot and around the building to prevent infrastructure damage. Tree removal is scheduled to take place sometime in late October. Work will be completed in the evening to maximize visitor and employee safety and minimize impacts to visitors during the day.

Daytime road construction work in Arches National Park will begin Monday, October 30. Once daytime work begins, visitors should expect significantly more delays than have been required during the project to date.
