Things To Do Series: Golfing The Desert Regions
By L. Bremner DesertRoadTrippin
One very common “thing to do” in most desert regions is to play golf. It is always fun to play on a new golf course and when on vacation you have plenty of time to make the rounds at the local desert track. The Coachella Valley has more than 100 golf courses laced within the communities of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio and La Quinta, CA. Phoenix, AZ and its neighboring communities are home to more than 200 golf courses. Las Vegas, NV and other popular desert hot spots are also golfing meccas.
Why have golf courses become so popular in the desert regions? Because of the amount of land available, the lower development costs and the climate . . . sun shining almost 365 days a year. When the snow starts hitting the ground in other regions, the snowbirds head to the desert to warm up, play some golf and just enjoy the mild winter climate.
There are now so many golf courses to choose from, it is hard to pick a course to play. In order to help golfers get more details about golf in the Coachella Valley, DesertUSA has teamed up with DesertCADDIE.com to offer you some inside information about the local golf industry. We also offer tee times throughout the U.S. from DesertUSA’s Golf Portal. All profits from tee time bookings go towards maintaining the DesertUSA.com and Desert Road Trippin’ Websites.
