After a short trip to the Salton Sea in late May, I came home with several photos of birds. The pelicans were easy to ID, but this Gull eludes me. I know it is a Gull, but what type? There seem to be so many varieties. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
The top photo is of a young California Gull, as are the two in the lower photo. They start life with a darker plumage, which changes as they mature. The closer bird in the lower photo is an adult.
