Jan 20, 2025 – DUSA Reports: San Diego is currently experiencing its driest start to the water year (which began on October 1) in recorded history, with a rainfall deficit exceeding three inches. This has created a less promising outlook for wildflowers in Southern California over the next two months. Consistent and adequate winter rain is crucial for wildflower seed germination and growth, and without it, the chances of widespread blooms are reduced.
However, this doesn’t mean there won’t be any wildflowers—it just means they’ll be harder to find. That’s why it’s more important than ever to check back here regularly to discover where wildflowers might still appear, even in these drought conditions and don’t forget to bookmark this page for easy access to timely updates!
