North Fork of the Virgin River

 

Springdale is located on the North Fork of the Virgin River of extreme southwestern Utah. It is the southern gateway to Zion National Park and in close proximity to numerous parks, monuments and recreation areas of the western Colorado Plateau.

History

Springdale was founded by Mormon Pioneers in the 1850s. Because of its location at the south end of Zion National Park, the town offers a number of accommodations and shops for park visitors. Today it is primarily a tourist center.
