“Papa Burger” and a “gallon” of root beer listed on an old menu indicate this sign is from an A&W root beer stand. A&W Root Beer® was created in 1919 in Lodi, Calif. and is still the world's number one selling root beer.
A very old sign from the Auto Club of Southern California points the way
and mileage to nearby towns in the Mojave Desert.
Children in particular are intrigued by all the unusual knickknacks found at Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch. This little girl loved playing on an antique typewriter.
Elmer found the homemade rake in the summer of ’59 on a camping trip with his dad
near Boron, Calif. in a “fallen-down homestead.”
